The final lesson of the flight training syllabus is the end of course
test. This lesson is designed to ensure that the student has acquired
the aeronautical knowledge and skills required by the current FAA Flight
Instructor (AMEL) Practical Test Standards.
Enrollment Prerequisites:
The applicant must hold a valid Flight Instructor Certificate (ASE) and a Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Multi-Engine Land (AMEL) and Instrument Airplane Ratings or an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate with an Airplane Multiengine Land (AMEL) Rating. The applicant must complete the required ground training course for the Flight Instructor, Airplane Multiengine Rating (AMEL) prior to the end of course test. Ground training may be accomplished separately or concurrently.
Graduation Requirements:
To obtain a graduation certificate for the Flight Instructor, Airplane Multi-Engine Land Rating course, the applicant must:
Hold at least an Airplane Single Engine Land Flight Instructor Certificate.
Be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
Complete all ground training requirements.
Flight Instructor, Airplane Multiengine Land Rating Ground Training Course (20 hours)
No FAA written exam required
Complete all flight training requirements
Hold a valid and current FAA medical certificate.
