Instrument Rating

This course provides instrument flight instruction in aircraft and flight training devices to prepare the student for the FAA instrument rating practical test. Maneuvers include VOR and NDB tracking and intercepting, DME arc, Localizer, NDB, VOR and ILS approaches, and partial panel operations.

In conjunction with the flight training portion of this course, the student will receive ground training for the Instrument Rating. Topics include flight instruments, attitude instrument flying, navigation systems, regulations, air traffic control, airspace, aviation weather, flight planning, and departure, en route, and
approach charts and procedures.

Flight Training

  • 24 hours: Single Engine Primary
  • 14 hours: Single Engine Flight Training Device
  • 16.5 hours: Ground Lessons

Ground School

  • 35 Hours
