Established in 1967, F.I.T.Aviation LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Florida Institute of Technology. We are an integral part of the College of Aeronautics and support the aviation program through our flight training activities.
Our motto is "The best in aviationeducation". Using the latest in FAA publications for guidance, we provide our students with a very strong aviation education. From this base, they can move on to and excel in any type of aviation career, be it airline, corporate, utility, military, or flight training.
We offer 14 CFR Part 141 and Part 61 flight training through our highly standardized Federal Aviation Administration approved training syllabuses. All of our full time flight instructors possess college degrees along with Flight Instructor and Flight Instructor Instrument certifications.
Our fleet consists of 35 aircraft, which include Piper Warriors/Cadets, Piper Arrows, Piper Seminoles, a Cessna 172S's, a Cirrus SR-22, an American Champion Citabria Aurora, and simulators. We provide flight and ground instruction in all pilot ratings, from Private Pilot through Airline Transport Pilot, and Flight Instructor Airplane, Instrument, Multi-engine. . In addition we offer unique courses such as Conventional gear, basic Aerobatic, Complex Instrument, Advanced Cockpit, and Air Taxi. All of our flight training is integrated with the ground studies provided by the College of Aeronautics.
Safety is of utmost importance at F.I.T. Aviation LLC. The quality of our maintenance, the standardization of our flight instructors, excellent training manuals, our good working relationship with the FAA, and every employee's concern for safety has assured an accident- free flying environment.
We are conveniently located at Melbourne International Airport (KMLB), on the east coast of Florida known as the Space Coast. Our weather is ideal to support year round flight operations. Our facility is a short drive from the main college campus. The tower controlled Melbourne International Airport safely hosts a mix of airline, corporate, and general aviation traffic. ILS, VOR, GPS, and NDB navigation procedures, along with radar approach control ensure optimal student flight training.
We operate the largest full service Pilot Shop on the Space Coast. Offered are a complete line of FAA and Jeppesen textbooks, flight manuals, aeronautical charts, approach plates, headsets, flight bags, and unique aviation gifts.

We offer all FAA written exams and are open
To provide more choices to our flying public, we are operating one of the newest fleets of Cessna aircraft in the country.
We are also a Cirrus Pilot Training Center, possessing the flight training and materials to support a check out and rental in this technically advanced aircraft. We operate a new Cirrus SR-22.
Always on the edge of unique and innovative use of our aviation assets, we support the flight test and cockpit development activities of Avidyne, act as the communication back- up to the space shuttle, support Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute in marine surveys, support the university's hydrogen fuel cell aircraft program, provide flight training for Florida Air Academy and work weekly with the Department of Fish and Wildlife.
We are large enough to possess and operate a diverse selection of aircraft, yet small enough to give highly personalized attention to our students and our renters. While our courses are challenging and demanding, our location on the Florida coast provides for a relaxed and comfortable learning environment.
